An old friend made this remark about me during our IM chat yesterday...."you (that's me) are like an institution there (in UKM). Gosh I found that hilarious, very very true but still super funny. I have been here for many years,15 years this year. That's weeeee long alright. But I think it's quite okay to be an institution. It moves and changes and diversifies at times and at other times it consolidates.
Much better than being a dead log huh! Like one I have in this current office. He's been around a year or two longer than me, doesn't move much, still the same designation, doing still about the same stuff. I can say the amount in RM of his contribution to the company can easily be toppled by an eager to establish himself fresh graduate. Then again, that log becomes a nuisance to people around him more and more the longer he stays. And it's going to be a huge challenge if one were to remove him as he is heavy, too grounded to the ground and will probably crumble if he is to be moved by force.
